The purpose of the article is to present the problem of a short time limit for submitting an appeal in complex and abstruse cases in the criminal procedure and to propose appropriate legislative changes, taking into account demands of the practising lawyers and the rule of a fair trial. It is based on the legal opinion prepared at the request of The Polish Bar Council concerning time limits for submitting an appeal in particularly complex and abstruse cases in the criminal procedure and the civil procedure of 28 February, 2019.
