One of the recent important amendments to the Polish criminal law in 2016 was a re-regulation of the electronic surveillance as an imprisonment. It was based on the penitentiary court authorization given to convicted offenders for punishments up to one year of imprisonment (offenses of lower social harmfulness). The above mentioned penalty provides similar duties for a convicted as probation. Convicted is obliged to stay in a particular place, usually in his own house, where he is controlled. He may leave the place of stay in order to work, learn, have a treatment, or have religious practitions, as well as to do other activities which prevent him from being exclued from the society and family.
