Sometimes there is a small difference between joint authorship work and collective work. One can often confuse these two copyright works. Therefore, this publication compares both works. Author of the publication also focuses on the expiry of the copyright law for this works, which is important from the point of view of the possibility of using the work by third parties. The fundamental difference which exists between these copyright works, is the role of the publisher (manufacturer) in the creation of the work and the issue of the agreement between the creators of the various components of the independent parts. However, there are also other less important issues, that should be taken under consideration. In the case of joint authorship the moment of the expiry of copyrights is easy to calculate. However, in the case of a collective work setting this moment is more complicated. Indication of wrong date may result in liability for the violations of one’s copyright law.
