I. General information
- The controller ("Controller") of the personal data provided by the User when using the website http://czasopismo.palestra.pl/ hereinafter referred to as the "Site" is the Polish Bar Council, hereinafter referred to as the NRA (from Polish: Naczelna Rada Adwokacka), ul. Świętojerska 16, 00-202 Warsaw, REGON [statistical #] 007010214, NIP [tax ID] 5260034369.
- The Controller attaches particular importance to respect for the privacy of Site users. Consequently, the following Privacy Policy has been adopted. It explains and informs how the data provided by the Site users (hereinafter referred to as the "Users") are collected, processed and secured. As a publisher of legal periodicals which are used for the work and professional development of lawyers, the NRA is particularly responsible for the security of personal data processed in connection with its activities.
- This Privacy Policy applies to all cases of the NRA processing personal data on the Website as their controller.
II. Details
- By using the Site the user accepts this Privacy Policy.
- Personal data may be collected on the Site via information collected and processed automatically when the Site is used, i.e.:
- information automatically stored in server logs, e.g. IP address, page request submitted by the user, date and time of the request, browser type and language, device data, screen resolution;
- "cookie" files - small text files sent by the Site and stored on the terminal device (computer, laptop, smartphone).
- Automatically collected information serves the following purposes:
- administration of the server and the Site;
- ensuring the provision of certain services to the user;
- adapting the Site to users’ needs;
- creating the Site’s audience analysis.
- Cookies are used to achieve the following purposes, without limitation:
- ensure the proper functioning of the Site's websites in the user's web browser;
- facilitate the user's usage of the Site and adapt it to the user's needs;
- create statistics that enable learning users’ expectations and developing the Site so as to facilitate access to the most frequently sought information or the type of devices used by users (e.g. by analysing queries);

- cookies set by the server, granted on the first visit to the Site, deleted after a given time of user inactivity or as a result of e.g. leaving the website, closing the browser, logging out (PHPSESSID, LFR_SESSION_STATE);

- cookies used to store information about the cancellation of the installation of the PWA app (“palestra-pwa-cookie”);
- cookies enabling the use of social media functions, such as sharing content on social media and subscribing to a social media profile. The use of these cookies involves the use of cookies of social media, such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIN.
- When the Site is used, part of the user data may be automatically collected and processed by third-party tools deployed on the Website. For statistical purposes, the Site may use Google Analytics tool, which operates based on its own cookies. - The Controller is not responsible for the privacy policy of external entities, including websites to which links are posted by the Controller. The users should familiarise themselves with the principles followed by these entities.
- The Controller uses best efforts to protect the Site and the data processed on it, including against unauthorized access by third parties. We use administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect personal data provided by users against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, use or access.Personal data are shared only with those collaborators and entities who need them in order to perform their tasks and they are processed only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
- When processing users' personal data, the controller complies with the provisions on the protection of personal data, including the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR).
- Users' personal data collected for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy will be processed for the period necessary to achieve a given purpose.
- Personal data are transferred to entities processing data on behalf of the Controller in connection with their provision of services to the Controller. The legal basis for the transfer of data are contracts for entrusting the processed personal data, entered into only to the extent legally permissible, while complying with security requirements and security standards.
- The Site contains links to other websites. The Controller is not responsible for the privacy rules applicable on those websites. This privacy policy applies only to the Site.
- The User has the right to request from the personal data controller:
- access to their personal data,
- rectification of such data,
- restriction of their processing,
- transfer of the data to another data controller,
- or object to their processing.
- The User also has the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection if they believe that the processing of their personal data infringes the provisions of the GDPR.
