The article contains the reflections and opinions about the recently published volume of documents from 1956–1957, entitled W imię przyszłości Partii. Procesy o łamanie tzw. praworządności socjalistycznej 1956–1957. Dokumenty 1 [In the Name of the Party’s Future. Trials for Breaking So-called Socialist Rule of Law 1956–1957. Documents 1]. It contains archive documents that show drastic repressions of the Stalin times, disclosed in the period after Stalin’s death. Repressions were applied not only by security agencies, but also by special courts, military courts, prosecutors’ offices. In this context, the attitudes of Polish advocates are described. Some of them were heroic, some were conformists.
